Getting Knocked Over By Wisdom

Sermon 02/01/2026

Speaker: Pastor Matt

In today’s world, wisdom is often seen as knowledge used as a weapon or tool. However, humanity and its lack of knowledge compared to God and thus a lack of good wisdom. True wisdom is not a pile of facts to be assembled and wielded for one’s own benefit. True wisdom is a gift that only comes from God; a Wisdom that humbles all who hear, that Christ died and has saved all people!

Immanuel’s Legacy Then; Immanuel’s Legacy Now

Sermon 01/25/2026

Speaker: Pastor Matt

Beginning this Sunday, we celebrate the fact that we have been established as a church for 150 years! For 150 years, Immanuel Lutheran Church has built a legacy for itself. From the founding congregants to the present membership, we have undergone many changes and faced many challenges. But one thing has not changed in all this time: Immanuel’s Legacy! What is that legacy? Let us hear God’s Word and the testimonies of old and new members to answer this very important question!

Enriched in Speech and Knowledge

Sermon 01/18/2026

Speaker: Pastor Matt

Have you ever eaten at a restaurant and tasted something and you thought to yourself, “I wish I had some seasonings to put on this?” We all know that things that are bland are tasteless do not have any appeal to them. In our text today, Paul reminds us that our speech and knowledge have been enriched by God! What does this have to do with seasonings? How does this apply to my everyday life?

Baptism and Death: How’s that Work?

Sermon 01/11/2026

Speaker: Pastor Matt

In today’s epistle reading, we hear Saint Paul remind us that in our baptism we die with Jesus. He says that we have died with Christ and thus have died to sin. Doesn’t baptism bring Life? What is the significance of this statement and how is it good news for us?

The Importance of Epiphany: Gentiles, Jews and Jesus!

Sermon 01/04/2026

Speaker: Pastor Matt

Epiphany is celebrated every church year to remember the coming of the three wisemen with their gifts fit for a king. What is the importance of these people coming to the Christ Child and how does it apply to us today?
